Speed Events - Barrels and/or Poles
Optimize your competitive edge by learning how to get better control of your horse. Learn flat work exercises that will condition your horse and teach him to use his body to his full potential. Having trouble getting your horse in the arena? Learn how to get a controlled entry with no rearing, running backwards or refusals. Learn how to correct pattern problems such as running by barrels or poles, stalling on the backside of barrels and other time costing mistakes. Improve pattern efficiency by learning to execute a consistent perfect pattern and learn tips to keep yourself on track. Get your horse ready and willing to work with you for that clock-stopping run. Address other time event related issues.

Horsemanship
Get your horse soft and willing. Learn how to ask less of your horse and get more. Learn to get better stops, backs and turns. Address catching, bridling, saddling, mounting and other handling issues. Get a yes answer when you ask your horse to cross water, jump a barrel, cross a bridge or whatever else may arise. Emphasis on safety for you and your horse. Build your confidence! Get a better understanding of horse psychology and how to build a partnership or respect and trust with him.

Colt Starting
Starting in the round pen learn how to start building a foundation and a relationship of respect and trust with your horse. Get your horse to “hook on” to you and look to you for the answer. Learn basic groundwork and halter work exercises. Saddling and bridling for the first time. The first ride! Learn to quit on a good note. Learn to recognize when the horse begins to understand and is comfortable with what you are teaching him. Prepare your horse for future training

Groundwork

Build a relationship of trust and respect with your horse on the ground. Learn basic and advanced halter work exercises. Get your horse soft and willing. Teach him to look to for the yes answer. Don’t let your horse push you around. Teach him to respect your space. Teach him to “send through”, jump barrels, go over bridges and side pass on the ground. Get your horse to yield to pressure and relax in worrisome situations. Address catching, handling the feet, trailer loading and other respect issues. Build your confidence!

Other Specialized Clinics:

Open Clinic

  • Two Day – Saturday and Sunday
  • Minimum of 5 participants maximum of 10
  • $250 cost per participant includes one spectator
  • $20 audit/spectator fee/day
  • Starts at 9:00am with lunch break and ending around 4:00pm (lunch not included)
  • Host must provide facilities but will receive host benefits (to be discussed in person)

Personal Clinic

  • $120.00 for Clinic (includes lunch)
    • min. 1/2 down to secure enrollment (non-refundable)
    • balance due 1 week prior to the clinic date
  • $25.00 for Auditors (max. of 24)
    • will need to order lunch if they like (additional $10.00)
    • balance due 1 wk in advance
  • $10.00 General Admission
    • will need to order lunch if they like (additional $10.00)
    • balance due 1 wk in advance
  • Times: 10a - 4p (plan on stopping at 12:00 for boxed lunches)
